Wicklow, Parish Rector Rev. William Bennett and Newtown Mt. Kennedy Parish
Priest Father Derek Doyle, have decided on a novel way to raise funds for three
designated charities.
Both Clergy have
decided to take to their horses and ride from Wexford Town to Newcastle along
the N 11 supported by a team of bucket collectors as they pass through towns on
route during their four-day expedition. (Commencing Sat 5th June
Wed 9th June).
Rev. Bennett and
Father Doyle have become good friends through their respective clerical duties
serving both communities in the North Wicklow Villages and on several previous
occasions have brought both communities together to fund raise for deserving
causes. Indeed Rev. Bennett on several occasions is noted for making house
visits on horse back in the local area.
The ride out commences
from Wexford Town at 12 noon on Sat 5th June taking in the following
route:

All funds raised will go directly to three charities including The House of Dreams which will be building a house for children
suffering from aids in Romania, The Field of Life in Uganda and The Newcastle Parish Youth Project . A bank
